Poetic Nature Walk: Strolling in Language

12 October 2024 10:00am 4 1/2 hours

Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts

With Pear Nuallak and Norman Erikson Pasaribu

ESEA Sisters are collaborating with Anamot Press and Tilted Axis Press to host a nature walk with a poetic twist.

Join us for a 5-mile gentle and relatively flat walk following the Woodland Trail around Stanmer Park Nature Reserve that will take us through the Great Wood, High Park Wood and Millbank Wood.

Midway through the walk we’ll be reflecting and journaling based on themes from two publications exploring queerness, leaving and landing in new landscapes and languages, and creating communities around food. We’ll be joined by two contributing writers, Pear Nuallak will facilitate discussions and Norman Erikson Pasaribu will provide audio prompts for journaling.

This event is for East and Southeast Asian women, trans, non-binary, and queer folks.

While no prior reading is required, to fully engage with the themes we intend to cover, we do recommend exploring these titles ahead of the event. Copies of both publications can be purchased directly from the publishers, from your local independent bookshop and during the festival:
