Ahead of presenting DETENTION at Brighton Dome on the 14th + 15th October, acclaimed choreographer and Artistic Director Gary Clarke joins David Sheppeard, Co Creative Director of Marlborough Productions for a conversation about the role LGBTQIA+ archives and heritage have played in the creation of his award-winning dance theatre works. Reflecting on cultural influences from notorious American homophobe Anita Bryant, the radical British drag icon Bette Bourne, to the legacy of Section 28 in his latest work DETENTION, Gary will share a rare insight into his research processes and what makes him think, create and move.
