Queer Heritage South: Community Archiving Workshop

12 October 2024 3:30pm 1 hour 30 mins

Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts
Free, but places must be booked

Join Queer Heritage South to explore the vibrant LGBTQ+ history of Brighton & Hove and contribute to a growing digital community archive.

Have you ever wanted to share a story about an object, photograph, flyer, or any item connected to your queer history in the city? If so, bring it along! In this interactive archiving workshop, you will be guided through the process of digitising and cataloging your personal item, which will then be preserved in the Queer Heritage South digital archive.

As we engage in this hands-on workshop, we’ll discuss the value of community archives in preserving often-overlooked narratives, explore the role of language in shaping the queer archive, and celebrate the wide range of objects and ephemera that enrich our understanding of queer history.

Please note – a Festival or Day Pass ticket does NOT grant you access to this event. Tickets must be bought separately.
