Quills and Thrills is The Coast is Queer’s Saturday night spectacular! Presented by illustrious LGBTQ+ powerhouse, Marlborough Productions, this is an affair that gathers the UK’s crème de la crème of queer cabaret and spoken word talent to entice and incite; followed by a Wildblood and Queenie dance party that’ll have you shimmying till late. Join the anarchic and explosive writer and performer Liv Wynter, the riotous rhythm n’ rap-inspired performer Felix Mufti and poet extraordinaire, Erin James.

Liv Wynter is a trans and working class grassroots organiser and performer, who has just launched their new self titled solo project ft music from Piglet. Their sellout night, How To Catch A Pig, is a celebration of creatives who also organise against the state with a focus of queer and trans performers where their band press.release, and their DJ/MC double act Dance Mums are residents. They have a published poetry collection, ‘Don’t let it go to your head’. They spent 2022 touring stadiums with Queer House Party, playing Secret Garden Party, Boomtown, Wilderness, Latitude and Sziget, and being banned from the Southbank Centre for decapitating the queen. Liv is a dedicated abolitionist organiser, and stands in solidarity with all collectives organising against any systemic oppression.

Felix Mufti is a scouse activist, performer, writer and chaos-causer who loves to tell his unhinged life stories through rhythm n’ rap inspired spoken word, poetry, prose and music. With a passion for many forms of activism, due to his own lived experience, Felix’s heart lies deepest with his fellow Queer communities. Although Felix’s values, stories and hopes and dreams of Queerness is firmly rooted in all his artistic work, he takes a much more hands on approach wherever possible. He is a key organiser for Trans Pride Liverpool, Transgender Day of Remembrance and is the Trans Rep for Socialist LGBT+ Network.

He is also a lecturer and workshop facilitator for companies, charities, community groups providing expert insight into how Queerness and allowing it flourish can positively influence industries, community and society. Felix’s highlight seminars include: How Queer Liberation Benefits All and The Power of Self- Expression. Felix co-founded Transcend Theatre where he writes and performs in authentic, usually unexplored stories of trans experience. His sell-out shows: ACE funded play and his debut, How to Kill a Rose was rated 4/5 stars by North West End and his following project Be Gay, Do Crime, blew the roof off the Shakespeare North Playhouse. Felix’s professional credits include: Sex Education (Netflix); When All Is Said (Fuel) which he also wrote and Transpose: Joy (Barbican).

Erin James is a Brighton based multidisciplinary artist weaving art and activism together, “trying to change the world one poem at a time.” As well as poetry they work as a photographer, DJ and zine maker, using joy within their work to tackle hate, and using art as a vessel and tool for change. They hope to inspire others to speak out and speak their truth through a mixture of mediums and ideas. They are The University of Sussex’s Stuart Hall Fellow.

Wildblood and Queenie forever take pleasure in playing the finest disco and disco-infused house grooves on the dancefloors of club nights and events including Patterns, Brighton Pride, Sunday Sundae, Wild Fruit, Horse Meat Disco, Bitch,Please!, Risen, Camp Bliss, Traumfrau, Vintage Festival, We Are Love, Block, Wild Family, Alfresco Festival, The Chill Out Tent, Sunday Almanac, The Tempest, Queer Nation, and their own legendary nights Shameless Hussies and Housewife’s Choice. Forever happy behind the decks since 1993, Wildblood and Queenie are privileged to share with you the love and laughter a lifetime together down the discotheque brings.
