Special Agent Sheldons
The case file has been leaked and Special Agent Sheldon’s cover has been blown. For one afternoon only, S.A Sheldons will disclose key evidence and breakthrough discoveries from the case that charts the Brighton Drag Scene from the Victorian era right through the present day.
Why is Brighton such a hotbed for drag, and has it always been this way? Who are the longest-serving queens on the circuit, and where do all the kings hang out? How did drag pageants become such a big thing here? Find all this out and more at a highly confidential briefing from the Department of Place-Specific-Drag-Phenomena.
In collaboration with Queer Heritage South
The Drag Files is a queer heritage and performance project uncovering hidden, place-based drag histories across the UK’s coastline. First launched in Margate in 2023, the project now expands to Brighton, Portsmouth and Blackpool, supported by Arts Council England funding. Working in collaboration with local queer heritage organisations, The Drag Files brings archival research to life through public performance lectures led by drag king alter ego Special Agent Sheldons. Each investigation is accompanied by a zine of “confidential case notes”. The findings are then archived within each partner organisation, ensuring these vital drag histories are preserved, celebrated and shared.
