We’re thrilled to be working with local legend Boogaloo Stu as our Artist in Residence this year. Boogaloo Stu has been a maximalist, bawdy, offbeat bastion of queer Brighton energy since the 90s. He has tried his hand in as diverse mediums as DJing, visual art, cabaret, fashion design, pop music, and theatre, flourishing in them all!

Stu designed this year’s gorgeous poster full of queer joy, local landmarks and unexpected critters, which is already a firm favourite.

Regarding his plans for the festival itself, Stu says “Over the weekend, I’ll be inviting festival-goers to step into my psychedelic world, creating an art installation which will conceal a number of queer book titles.”

We can’t wait to see what he has in store for us over the weekend!
